Craniosacral therapy is a light touch, whole-body treatment technique developed by John E. UPledger, DO, OMM.
It works with the body's craniosacral system to support and nourish the central nervous system - improving overall health and well-being.
It is a complementary method of hands-on bodywork; working with the natural and unique rhythms of the different body systems to pinpoint and address problem sources.
It helps to alleviate the aches, pains and strains of life; improves coping mechanisms to allow for better management of stress, and improves the body's ability to self-care; and can produce profound, positive changes.

Melissa received her Massage Therapy Certificate from Westervelt College in 2019, and her RMT designation from the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) in 2020.

In addition to her Massage Therapy education, Melissa has also done additional training as a Level II Usui Reiki Practitioner, Labour Support through Spinning Babies, courses in Cupping and Hot Stone Therapy, and is currently working towards her certification in Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute.

Prior to becoming a RMT, Melissa’s recent careers include being a Certified Labour and Postpartum Doula/Educator in the KW region, running a small gardening business, and in her previous life that found her relocating every year or so, a range of dalliances from working with animals, the exciting world of Finance, and oh so many years in the Food & Beverage industry (even running a hot dog cart, and hosting karaoke while attending University for her Bachelor’s of Business Operations with a concentration in Project Management) during her younger years. Throughout all of these paths, she always knew deep down that her true passion was helping empower others to help themselves.

When Melissa isn’t working, she is spending time with her family, including her three spoiled dogs (the youngest Willow is often present in the clinic to offer emotional support and kisses if desired), and depending on the season is either in her gardens or her greenhouse growing her own food. She and her husband enjoy travelling and always have a project (or 5) on the go, including doing most of the hands on work on the renovations in their house.

Melissa has experience working with all ages of life ranging from young children to mature adults! She has experience working with competitive athletes and more laidback lifestyles, and can tailor a treatment best suited to your needs. Since opening the Touch of Kindness clinic, Melissa has provided treatment for a range of conditions including post injury/surgery recovery, prenatal/postnatal, migraines/headaches, post-concussive, Scoliosis, neurological disorders (including Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD), TMJ disorder, and many others. She combines all the different techniques she has acquired to create the best treatment option in her toolkit for the client as they arrive to her table.

She believes a smile can go a long way, and knows that holding space for others is the most simple, yet powerful, act of kindness one can do for another.
